2010 Stratford Tournament
Mississauga Croatia U11G Win 2010 Stratford Tournament
Congratulations to the Mississauga Croatia U-11G Team in claiming the championship at the 2010 Stratford Classic Tournament.
After suffering their only loss of the tournament in the first game 1-0 of the preliminary round against the host team Stratford, Mississauga Croatia roared back to go undefeated in their remaining four games.
On Sunday, in the semi finals, the girls had to face the same Stratford team that beat us on Saturday. The girls were determined to get even. Our girls played with a lot heart and desire and won a close game 1 - 0. We then faced a very strong Kitchener Spirit team in the championship game. In the nail-biting final, the game was extremely close with several back and forth chances for both sides. At the end of regulation the game was tied 0 - 0. Eventually in a thrilling shoot-out, it went to the 7th kicker, a winner was determined when Mississauga Croatia prevailed 5 - 4.
The coaches are very proud of the girls as they demonstrated what it means to have a well-balanced team, equipped with pure determination, continuous hard work, and ultimate teamwork.

2010 West Niagara Rep Tournament
Congratulations to the Mississauga Croatia U11G team for making it to the finals at the 2010 West Niagara Rep Tournament. After completing the round robin undefeated, beating Aurora 1-0 and Ancaster 3 - 1, and winning their group, the U11G advanced to the quarter finals on Sunday against Oakville. The quarter finals proved to be a nail biting contest as the scoreless game went into penalty kicks. However, with superb goal tending and precise penalty kicks our girls prevailed 2 - 1. Next, the players came on strong with their best performance of the tournament to beat a very talented Erin-Mills team 1 - 0 in the semi final game. In the championship game, our team lost a close hard fought 2 - 0 game to a strong and well deserved winning Burlington Team.
Overall, the defence played outstanding soccer as they did not allow a single scoring chance in either the quarter final or semi final matches. Throughout the tournament, the play of the forwards was superb, goal tending was excellent and the play and hustle of the midfielders was exceptional.
The coaches would like to congratulate the U11G in not only reaching the finals, out of 14 teams, but more importantly the tremendous efforts of each and every girl working as a team and winning against opponents that currently play in more competitive leagues.
